2ndary Fermentation Trouble?

Post by pcutti19 »

I have a belgian dubble in 2ndary for 10 days so far and from 1 it had an active airlock (actually a blow-off tube). Not traub, but co2 into the adjacent grolwer of water. There has been a layer of traub on top, but not expelled through blow off tube. Last night as I was getting ready for bed, I noticed what looked like carbonatin bubbles on the side of the carboy. What should I do? I was thinking of racking to tertiary fermentation. I am heading out of town tomorrow and don't want to have this hanging on my mind!

thanks.

It sounds like you moved it to secondary too soon. Leave it alone until it finishes fermenting. It will be fine while you're away for the holiday.
