Extract goes dark when boiled

Started making extract recipes of late and every time I do they always turn out far darker then they are meant to be.Is it because of the boil??Any help would be much appreciated..

Yep, you bet. Boiling tends to darken the wort. Extracts tend to make darker worts than all-grain worts. Lastly, LME tends to be darker than DME. Try using the extra pale DME to make lighter colored beer.
