Nitrogen vs. CO2 draft

Post by ripsnub »

Wondering if there is anything special to put a stout on nitro tap. Is everything the same as CO2 except the gas?

Thanks. :P

Yes, you need a special ffountain head to get the desired results from using the brewgas mixture ( co2 and nitrogen). The fountain for this is specialy designed to create a fuller richer head and body to the beer with the brew gas. the fountain has a small screen in it with small holes which help release the gasses disolved in the beer. The fountaains also look alot different than a normal faucet head. they have a long narrow pointy spout. If you go to your local bar you can see them on all Guiness taps. You can also but them used for alot cheaper from e bay than from a home brew store.

I hope this info helps.

Hey ripsnub, go check out Mirco Matic. They have a huge supply on all keg equipment. I think they have a help section on tell you what you all need for each system.
