blow off

the blow off tube is handy when you have an enegetic start to your fermentation, I started using a blowoff tube when I came home from !&%@ to find my airlock ten feet from the carboy and yeast on the ceiling in the kitchen, I thought that was pretty cool but the wife didn't seem to agree.Large sanitized hose works well, run it into a one gallon extract jar with a quart of water in the bottom to create an airlock, after about two days you can usually switch to the airlock.
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Here's My Setup

Post by wottaguy »

I use a universal Bung and a 3/8 hose attached to a piece of a racking cane. From there the hose is led into a 1 gal bottle half filled with water and iodophor solution. No way is anything gonna contaminate the wort! You can see it here:

Hope this helps!
