Bottle carbonation time.

Post by Sosh »

Hi,

I was just wondering how long it really takes to for yeast to process the priming sugar after bottling - ie. how long before the bottle has carbonated. I would guess a couple of days, but have always left it longer. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

1-2 weeks

Leave the bottles at room temp. for at least 1-2 weeks (I always wait 2 weeks). This should allow sufficient time for the CO2 to be produced and to go into solution. After that time you can refridgerate the bottles. Hope this helps.
