Can't quit, hide, or remove from dock on MAC

Hello everyone,

Just got BTP for my Mac and am liking it so far except for some reason, I cant quit, hide, or remove the program from my dock. This is a problem because it causes other applications to time out (I cant update my computer because I cant restart it with BTP open) Anything special I need to do to quit this?

Force quit works, but only from the master "apple" icon. If i right click the BTP icon and force quit, hide or remove from dock, nothing happens
