Database Question?

I am brand new to this forum, so please excuse the nood question.
when I open the program the database list is grayed out and I dont know how to add it. was it supposed to install automatically or am I missing something. I was just trying to see what ingredients were already in there but I couldnt, as they were not anywhere to be seen.
"NEVER MIND" My own stupidity!, I tried to move the BTP icon to my desktop which is c:directory after I had downloaded the program to my partitioned D: drive. apparently has to be in the same directory to asccess all the functions. sorry for posting.....
