Question re OG

I brewed a weissbeer this weekend and while the program calculated my OG to be 1.050, my hydrometer reading gave me only 1.046 after adjustments. So I went to enter this new reading in the analysis page and it won't take. It keeps popping back to 1.050. Is there something I need to do to get it to accept the new values? Thanks.

Is this an extract only recipe? If so you can't change the OG. You have to change the volume to until you get the SG you want. You can read more about it in this thread.

That's it! This was a wheat beer with extract only and no specialty grains. Thanks for the help.
