LME volume

I couldn't tell if this has been brought up before or not but is there a way that when you select LME that the kettle volume is adjusted appropriately? This is constantly catching me. Just today I brewed a batch and as I was pouring in my extract (12 pounds) I noticed that the kettle level was getting pretty high. I hadn't added anything else yet so I just boiled it down to the proper level before I started the hops and etc.. For liquid extract brewers this would be relatively handy. As far as that goes if any time a liquid is introduced into the kettle can the volume be adjusted accordingly?
