I'm doing a partial mash, that is, I'm mashing the grains in about 1 gallons of water between 140-157 F. for about 40-60 minutes. The I sparge with about 1 gallon of water at 140-157 F. I add enough wather to hit the 3.5 gallons, bring the wort to a boil, add 1 lb LME and hops.
My mash efficiency is about 65% or little more. The LME efficiency is higher.
What efficiency do I use?
Also, what would your suggestions be for the schedule?
thanks
Marcelo

When you do a partial mash, the efficiency is only applied to the grains. So just go with 65% and don't worry about the extract, it won't be affected by the setting you use.
