I am looking for something with a higher OG (1.070+) and a decent amount of hops. If anyone could point me to some good recipes i would appri...

When to transfer to secondary fermenter
I have my Trippel Ale in my primary fermenter (6.5 gallon bucket) and i was wondering when to rack to secondary. My starting OG was 1.068 and it has been fermenting for 3.5 days. I dont want to wait to long and then have fermentation stop completely.

Adding Oxygen after fermentation begins
I just brewed a Trippel Ale (6 gallon batch) and i racked it to the primary fermenter (6.5 gallon bucket w/ airlock) and added a Wyeast Activator pack of Belgian Abbey Ale yeast (1214). However i have a feeling that i did not get enough oxygen to dissolve in the wort before sealing the fermenter. It...

Yeast Storage
I am about ready to rack to my secondary and i would like to start retaining my yeast for future batches. I was wondering what the best type of container is for yeast storage. What containers does everyone else use?

Preparing Whole Hops
For all you more experienced brewers out there, how do you prepare whole hops? I have purchased some Northern Brewer hops and they have come "compressed" into a 1/2sphere. Should i just put them in the bag and toss them in the boil? Do i want to break them apart first? What about using who...

Secondary Fermentation in a 6.5 Gal plastic bucket ???
I am new to homebreweing and i currently have three 6.5 gallon fermenters with lids and airlocks, but i have yet to acquire a carboy. Will these be as effective for secondary fermentation? Is it still worth it to do a secondary fermentation with a bucket?

Rochester Brew Scene
I used to live in Rochester (Fairport) and i have to say its quite a unique community. There are decent brews to be had and a strong commitment to small business and quality in the outlying towns. Most communities have a strong crew (rowing) program, which is one of my passions. There are ample oppe...

Which type of water does everyone use to brew?
I am going to be brewing a few batches and before i go out an buy some water, i was just curious what experiences people are having with different types of water. I live in a town with very hard water (the kind that necesitates 3 coffee makers per year usless your smart enough to use bottled) so i h...

Weizenbock Recipe
Has anyone brewed a good weizenbock recently? I recently stopped at Bethlehem Brew Works and it was one of the beers that impressed me the most, so i figured it might be time to give it a try. If you have brewed a good weizenbock and have any suggestions or tips or even a good recipe, let me know! ~...

Hops Wall Chart
I am not sure if this even exists, but i was wondering if anyone has come across a Hop Chart for the wall. I am looking for something that has a lot of the different hop varieties on it (pictures of course) along with some information about the hops. Besides being a cool addition to my kitchen or ro...
